The Division of Public Education (DPE) at the International Cultural Center (ICC) of Texas Tech University provides programs that enhance the international educational experiences available to Kindergarten-12th grade students in public and private schools and home-schooled classes throughout the South Plains. Our hands-on, interactive programs involve the critical higher order thinking skills and are allied with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and the Core Knowledge Sequence.

***RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL PROGRAMS***

PROGRAM AND SCHEDULING INFORMATION – ALL PROGRAMS MUST BE RESERVED IN ADVANCE ONLY THROUGH THE DPE RESERVATIONS OFFICE BY CALLING 742-0426. Grant monies awarded by other entities housed in the International Cultural Center in no way guarantee a reservation in DPE programs or serve as pre-payment for DPE programs. Specific dates and times for DPE programs are contained in this Calendar of Events. To register for classes, please use the convenient fax form in the back of the calendar or call us at (806) 742-0426 and we will be happy to assist you. Upon receipt of your reservation request, a confirmation packet will be mailed to your school. If you must cancel a class visit, change the time, or the number of students attending, please call us at (806) 742-0426 well in advance of the program. If you need to make arrangements for persons with disabilities, please call (806) 742-0426 at least one week prior to attending so appropriate arrangements can be made.

SUPERVISION/STUDENT BEHAVIOR POLICY
One chaperone or teacher must accompany every group of 10 students attending. Chaperones and teachers are expected to be responsible for student behavior while entering the facility, during the program, and while exiting the facility. DPE/ICC staff and security personnel reserve the right to ask any group disrupting a program to leave the facility, escorted by an accompanying certified teacher, and board their transportation. In the event that such action must be taken, program fees will not be reimbursed.

PROGRAM ATTENDANCE FEES
The cost for DPE programs is $1.00 per student per program. Teachers and chaperones will not be charged. Please call Dr. Lari Dianne Young, DPE Senior Director, at 742-0426 if your district wishes to discuss advance payment options for the September-May school year. Teachers may send an e-mail to us requesting specific programs and dates found on our site. The DPE staff will respond immediately with a confirmation packet mailed to your school address unless you specify an alternate mailing address in the e-mail.

EXTENDED-DAY PROGRAMS BY REQUEST
Teachers travelling great distances to attend DPE programs have requested the possibility of their students experiencing more than one program during their stay. For an additional fee, this can be arranged provided that it is arranged in advance and approved by Dr. Lari Dianne Young, DPE Senior Director.

DISTANCE LEARNING OPTION
With prior arrangement, the Division of Public Education can provide a Distance Learning video-streaming option for selected DPE programs. Please call Dr. Lari Dianne Young, DPE Senior Director, as to the availability and cost of receiving programs via distance learning technology.
