GENERAL
The official name of this country is the Republic of Hungary. Budapest
serves as the capital. Originally, Budapest was two separate cities
separated by the Danube River, Buda and Pest. Hungary has a president
and a prime minister. The president serves as the head of state while
the prime minister serves as the head of the government. The government
in place today is modeled after the governments of the western world.
NATURAL RESOURCES
Hungary has very limited natural resources. The main resources include
bauxite, coal, natural gas, and fertile soils. The limited resources
have caused Hungary problems in the past in the production of products
such as motor vehicles. Hungary has tried to increase production since
leaving Soviet control.
On the agricultural front, Hungary produces wheat, corn, sunflower seed,
potatoes, sugar beets, pigs, poultry, and dairy products. Hungary does
not export these products. Instead, the country is trying to improve its
pharmaceutical industry for exportation.

many European capitals.
Hungary boasts five heliports.
Hungary also provides an efficient hydrofoil service along the Danube
from Vienna to Budapest.
