Interactive Cultural Baskets
The Division of Public Education (DPE) of the Office of International Affairs at Texas Tech University provides the following list of websites to help enhance the experience the students had at the International Cultural Center. The sites relate to the three regions of the world – deserts, rainforests, and mountains – explored in the DPE Signature Program, “Interactive Culture Baskets.”

This site features desert plants and animals, minerals, geology, people and cultures of the Sonoran Desert. Students can see desert creatures up close. Students can find out how the desert looks before and after it rains. Students can see photos of wildflowers in bloom. There is also weather information available.

This is the museum that features the Sonoran Desert. It is a natural history museum and botanical garden. It has school programs, tortoise adoption program, and photos of the desert in bloom.
