Good Neighbor Scholarship for the 2014-2015 Academic Year
GOOD NEIGHBOR SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION FOR THE 2014-2015 ACADEMIC YEAR
The GNS program for international students from Latin America and the Western Hemisphere awards full tuition waivers for the Fall 2014 Semester, Spring 2015 Semester, and Summer I & II 2015 Sessions for citizens born in the western hemisphere. Students are required to pay all fees, however. The student must have been at least a five-year current resident of a politically independent nation in the western hemisphere (excluding Cuba and the United States); the student cannot be a dual U.S. citizen or have an application pending for U.S. permanent residency; the student must be currently enrolled at TTU and have completed at least one academic semester at Texas Tech University before the start of the 2014-2015 academic year; he/she must maintain full-time enrollment and satisfactory academic progress; the student should be planning on returning to the country of origin upon successful completion of the academic program.
Deadline for submission of the application for the 2014-2015 academic year will be 5:00 p.m., Friday, February 28, 2014. Information and application forms for the 2014-2015 academic year will be made available at this site in January of 2014 once this office has received the appropriate notification and information from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in Austin, Texas at that time. Official GNS information should be available to interested western hemisphere student applicants about the third week of January 2014. Notice: This scholarship program is constantly under review and could be discontinued at any time. You are strongly urged not to rely on this award as a means to finance your studies.
